Who we are

Digital Life Check is run by Charnette Labs. For anything about your privacy, email gw@charnette.io.

The short version

• No account is needed. We don’t ask for your name or email to use any check.
• What you type into the Scam Check, Password Check and questionnaires is processed in your browser. It isn’t sent to us or stored.
• We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t sell or share personal data.

What we do record

Usage events. To see whether the site is useful we record simple events — for example “a Scam Check was completed and found 3 warning signs”, or “a guide was viewed” — with the page address, the time, and whether the visit looked automated. We don’t store your IP address, a cookie, a device ID or anything else that identifies you, and events never contain what you typed.

Affiliate clicks. When you follow a /go/ link we record the product, the link’s position on the page and the time. See the affiliate disclosure.

Who processes data for us

• Vercel hosts the site. Like any web host, it processes request information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
• Supabase stores our content and the anonymous events above, in its London (eu-west-2) region.
• Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. It tells visits apart using a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, and records the page address (without anything typed into it), the referring site, an approximate location, and the device and browser type. It cannot identify you or follow you to other sites.

Your rights

Because we don’t hold data that identifies visitors, there is usually nothing to access or delete. If you think we hold something about you, email gw@charnette.io. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
