About Digital Life Check

Digital Life Check helps ordinary people answer everyday questions about their online lives: is this a scam, has my phone been hacked, is my information exposed, what should I actually pay for? We try to make people feel capable rather than frightened.

What we do

• Checks — short, private tools such as the Digital Life Check, Scam Check and Password Check. They run in your browser, and what you type isn’t sent to us.
• Guides — direct answers, researched against official sources and dated, so you can see when they were last checked.
• Reviews — products assessed against published criteria, with a clear label saying whether we researched or tested them.

How we are paid for

Some links to products earn us a commission. That pays for the site and never changes the price you pay. Our free advice comes first: where a free setting on your phone does the job, we say so. Read the affiliate disclosure for the details.

What we are not

We are not your bank, the police or a security company, and our checks are not technical audits of your devices. If you have lost money, contact your bank straight away.
